This policy describes how the Copergrine Clinical Workflow Chrome extension handles information. It supplements, and does not replace, the policies and notices that apply to Copergrine clinical services, the Copergrine EMR, and any covered entity using those services.
What the extension processes
When an authorized user clicks Scan pageon a Copergrine EMR encounter, the extension may process a narrow set of visible page content on the user’s device:
- patient display label;
- visit reference;
- facility label; and
- a generic indication that a potential laboratory order is present.
The extension does not intentionally read or return note text, medical-record numbers, insurance information, diagnoses, allergies, passwords, authentication credentials, or hidden form fields.
How information is used
Detected page content is used only to display a review candidate in the extension’s side panel for the user who initiated the scan. Detected live context is not used to generate the fictional coding or clinical suggestions shown in this preview.
Storage, transmission, and retention
Detected page content is held only in the open side panel’s temporary component memory. It is not written to Chrome storage, sent to Copergrine servers, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or made available for human review. It is discarded when the side panel session is closed or reset.
The extension does not include analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, remote code, or the Chrome storage permission. The current release does not persist page-derived encounter context.
Permissions
The extension uses Chrome’s side panel and scripting capabilities to provide its user-facing workflow. Persistent host access is limited tohttps://app.copergrine.com/*; the extension does not request access to all websites. Scanning occurs only after a user clicks Scan page.
Limited Use
The extension’s use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the extension’s single user-facing purpose. It is not transferred for advertising, credit-worthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes, and humans are not permitted to read it except where the user gives specific consent for support, where required for security or law, or in aggregated and anonymized form for internal operations.
Clinical limitations
This release is a non-operational workflow preview. Coding suggestions are decision support only and do not guarantee coverage, payment, medical necessity, or reimbursement. Real eligibility verification requires a connected payer or clearinghouse. The extension does not submit claims, verify eligibility, dispatch couriers, update charts, process payments, upload files, or send operational messages.
Changes and contact
If the extension’s information practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed release is distributed.
